Passwords and Updates on Laptops

Open a Terminal to run these commands, e.g. by using the key combination CTRL+Alt+t.

  • The disk is encrypted: you got a password when you got the laptop. When you change the password you'll be asked for your account's password, too, to enhance security: Use this command to change the disk password:

    change-disk-password.sh
    
  • Please change your initial login password using this command:

    passwd
    
  • Please update the system regularly using this command:

    doas install-updates.sh
